چکیده

A new method for measuring stratum corneum hydration in-vivo, using opto-thermal transient emission radiometry with 2.94pm Er:YAG excitation and wavelength selective detection, is described. Results on skin recovery following exogenous hydration, skin stripping with Sellotape and wound healing are presented.

Facts and myths about electrical measurement of stratum corneum hydration state.

Some of the views presented in the chapter on 'Examination of stratum corneum hydration state by electrical methods' in Skin Bioengineering - Techniques and Applications in Dermatology and Cosmetology (Karger, 1998) are in strong disagreement with the results from basic research that has been conducted on skin impedance measurement over the last decades. This research has e.g. non-ambiguously s...

ارزیابی بی‌خطری محلول موضعی مینوکسیدیل 5% + بابونه‌ی 7%

Background and Aim: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common form of alopecia in men, worldwide and topical minoxidil appears to be the most effective and safe treatment for AGA beside oral finasteride. Safety assessment of topical minoxidil formulation could be conducted using in vivo studies on human volunteers. Using skin biophysical parameters is a fast and noninvasive method for safe...

Glycerol accelerates recovery of barrier function in vivo.

Two studies were performed to evaluate the influence of glycerol on the recovery of damaged stratum corneum barrier function. Measurements of transepidermal water loss and capacitance were conducted in a 3-day follow-up after tape stripping (study 1) and a 7-day follow-up after a barrier damage due to a repeated washing with sodium lauryl sulphate. In study 1 a faster barrier repair (transepide...
